Rand Paul on Fauci diary entries: ‘Level of dishonesty is really astounding’
July 28, 2026, The Hill
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5993885-rand-paul-accuses...

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chair Rand Paul, who has published Dr. Anthony Fauci’s private diary from when he led the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, says that the entries reveal a “level of dishonesty” that is “really astounding.” “One of the biggest items that we found in there was that in January of 2020 he already was acknowledging that the virus didn’t originate in the marketplace. For years he’s been telling you — if you interviewed him last week, he’s probably still telling you — the reason we think it came from nature is because they had these exotic animals and that’s where SARS came from previously,” Paul told reporters. “The earliest people who got COVID were not associated with the marketplace. The Chinese CDC was saying this in January of 2020. He knew it, he told dear diary, but to the public, he commissioned this paper called ‘Proximal Origins,’ and in it they go on and on saying it’s implausible that it came from the lab and we’re really convinced it came from these wild animals in the marketplace,” Paul told reporters. Paul has accused Fauci of lying about gain-of-function research into dangerous viruses at the Chinese lab and subpoenaed the 85-year-old former health official to testify before his committee. Paul also said on social media that his investigation into Fauci shows that he “put protecting his reputation ahead of protecting the American people.”

Note: As Washington Post reported, Fauci characterized the 6-ft recommendation as “an empiric decision that wasn’t based on data” and testified: “It sort of just appeared, that six feet is going to be the distance.” In our latest Substack, COVID Revisited: A Complete Guide to Pandemic Propaganda and the Search for Truth in a Divided World, we explore how many COVID-era policies and mandates didn’t actually have a scientific basis, and failed to hold up in the face of real world evidence. We also emphasize the devastating public health costs of fear, division, and social isolation. Read more on how Fauci was "untruthful" to Congress about Wuhan lab virus research.

Tracking the Trump administration’s favors to the pesticide industry
July 22, 2026, US Right to Know
https://usrtk.org/pesticides/tracking-trump-administration-favors...

The pesticide industry has spent decades building a highly effective influence operation in Washington D.C. Its political influence did not begin with the Trump administration. But over the past 18 months, the Trump administration has delivered a string of victories to the pesticide industry that could reshape pesticide use and public health protections for years to come. U.S. Right to Know identified 26 administration officials with ties to the pesticide industry’s lobbying or legal network, including 11 political appointees at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where former chemical industry lobbyists now occupy the four highest-ranking positions overseeing federal pesticide regulations. In June 2026, the Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration and Bayer in a 7–2 decision likely to block thousands of state-level lawsuits alleging that Bayer failed to warn consumers that Roundup causes cancer. In February 2026, President Trump signed an executive order declaring glyphosate-based herbicides and elemental phosphorus – a raw material used in glyphosate production and military weaponry – critical to national defense and directing the federal government to prioritize their domestic production. Bayer is the sole U.S. producer of both glyphosate and elemental phosphorus. In June 2025, USDA rescinded regulations that had required farmers to keep basic records documenting when, where and how they applied restricted-use pesticides.

Note: Our Substack, "The Pesticide Crisis Reveals The Dark Side of Science. We Have The Solutions to Regenerate," uncovers the scope of Bayer/Monsanto's media propaganda machine and the widespread conspiracy to poison our food, air, and along with the powerful remedies and solutions to this crisis. Chlorpyrifos: Pesticide tied to brain damage in children, chronic disease and other health problems
June 5, 2026, US Right to Know
https://usrtk.org/pesticides/chlorpyrifos/

Scientific research shows that chlorpyrifos, a widely used insecticide, is strongly linked to brain damage in children. These and other health concerns led several countries and some U.S. states to ban chlorpyrifos years ago, but the chemical was still allowed for use by farmers in the U.S. after successful lobbying by its manufacturer. In August 2021, the Biden Administration acknowledged the danger to children and announced it would ban chlorpyrifos from agricultural use. However, in November 2023, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit overturned the EPA’s ban. The American Academy of Pediatrics, which represents more than 66,000 pediatricians and pediatric surgeons, has warned that continued use of chlorpyrifos puts developing fetuses, infants, children and pregnant women at great risk. Scientists have found that prenatal exposures to chlorpyrifos are associated with lower birth weight, reduced IQ, the loss of working memory, attention disorders, and delayed motor development. A population based case-control study found that, “Prenatal or infant exposure to a priori selected pesticides—including glyphosate, chlorpyrifos, diazinon, and permethrin—were associated with increased odds of developing autism spectrum disorder.” According to an analysis published in July 2020, U.S. regulators relied on falsified data provided by Dow Chemical to allow unsafe levels of chlorpyrifos into American homes for years.

Note: Did you know that chlorpyrifos was originally developed by Nazis during World War II for use as a nerve gas? These Weaponized Germs Are Deadly, Unstoppable and Very Real
July 27, 2026, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/books/review/biological-war...

[Annie] Jacobsen’s new book, “Biological War: A Scenario” ... is a heavily researched book about contagious and potentially civilization-ending pathogens. Though banned by international treaty, these germs have been weaponized and hoarded by countries that include Russia, North Korea and Syria. Jacobsen has interviewed everyone, from former high-ranking members of the military, the C.I.A., FEMA and NATO to former secretaries of defense, counterterrorism experts, epidemiologists and Sam [expletive] Altman. That so many were willing to talk to her, and have their names affixed to this book, indicates the esteem in which she is held. “Biological War” is fact-based except for Jacobsen’s assumption that our leaders have experience, knowledge, integrity and empathy. The infectious killer this book describes, I am sorry to say, exists. It’s what’s referred to as a chimera pathogen, alive and airborne, a booby-trapped hybrid of two or more viruses. In this case, the infected person first experiences a long wave of euphoria, of the sort that makes one want to rush out and dance with somebody. Later, the suffering begins. Bubbly pink sputum, hacked up bits of lung, “bestial noises,” stenches on airplanes mistaken for dirty diapers. This pathogen is engineered to destroy trust in medicine. If a patient is given antibiotics — these would barely help anyway — the disease mutates into a form of deadly encephalitis.

Note: In 1977, a US Senate investigation revealed that, during the Cold War, the Army had secretly conducted at least 239 biological warfare tests by releasing bacteria into American cities and public transportation systems. In one experiment, a bacterial cloud released over the San Francisco Bay Area exposed hundreds of thousands of people, contributing to illnesses and death, and lasting changes to the region's microbial ecology. A.I. Bots Told Scientists How to Make Biological Weapons
April 29, 2026, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/29/us/ai-chatbots-biological-weapons...

A small group of experts [were] enlisted by A.I. companies to vet their products for catastrophic risks. Some have shared with The Times more than a dozen chatbot conversations revealing that even publicly available models can do more than disseminate dangerous information. The virtual assistants have described in lucid, bullet-pointed detail how to buy raw genetic material, turn it into deadly weapons and deploy them in public spaces, the transcripts show. The U.S. government has long planned for powerful adversaries unleashing deadly bacteria, viruses or toxins in the American population. Since 1970, there have been a few dozen, fairly small biological attacks around the world, such as the anthrax-laced letters that killed five Americans in 2001. Despite perennial warnings, a major catastrophe has not happened and remains unlikely, most experts say. But even if the probability is low, an effective biological weapon could have an enormous impact. Dozens of experts told The Times that A.I. is one of several recent technological advances that have meaningfully increased that risk by expanding the pool of people who could cause harm. Still, A.I. users would need some real-world expertise to follow a bot’s instructions. Some research, including a study backed by A.I. companies, has found that while chatbots can help novices learn certain lab skills, the technology isn’t particularly helpful for carrying out the range of complex tasks needed to make a virus from scratch.

Investigation of School Epstein Helped Finds Abuses Went Beyond Him
July 28, 2026, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/28/arts/music/jeffrey-epstein...

Dozens of former students of the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, where Jeffrey Epstein is said to have encountered some of his earliest victims, told a law firm hired by the school that they had been sexually abused by teachers, staff members, trustees and others affiliated with the institution in episodes ranging from the 1950s to the 2010s. In a report released on Tuesday, after almost two years of interviews, the law firm presented firsthand accounts of Interlochen alumni, who said they had been subjected to misconduct ranging from grooming and flirting to intercourse. The report said that some 70 of the former students described physical abuse and identified the perpetrators as 47 adults affiliated with the center. The report, which is 97 pages long, said that some of the adults figured in multiple accounts that stretched over decades, but that a majority of the episodes had occurred several decades ago and claims of abuse had dropped sharply since 2000. In recent years, Interlochen also became known as the place where Mr. Epstein, a celebrated donor to the school, returned to mingle with students, several of whom later said they had been subjected to his grooming and abuse. Between 1990 and 2003, he [directed] more than $400,000 to Interlochen, including $200,000 to build the Jeffrey E. Epstein Scholarship Lodge, created to house visitors and parents. In 2009, Interlochen renamed the Epstein lodge.

This woman challenged Sweden’s lax paedophile laws. Now she’s the one being prosecuted
June 22, 2026, Yahoo News
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/woman-challenged-sweden-lax-paedophile...

Last year, a middle-aged man was filmed approaching a woman in a shopping centre. It was a sting. The man had expected to meet a woman he had been chatting to online who was offering up her three young children to be abused. But she was, in fact, a paedophile hunter – a decoy. He ran, and was captured on film. The decoy was part of a media organisation known as Dumpen (literally, "the dump"), set up in 2021 to highlight the terrible shortcomings of Sweden's laws on child abuse and defamation by exposing predators. As with every sting executed by Dumpen, both the film of the man being confronted and the numerous messages between him and the decoy were uploaded to its website. This particular individual was given the moniker "Mr Grey". Weeks after posting on Facebook, Angeliqa received a letter from the police, telling her to present herself at a station across the city for questioning. "I took a lawyer with me, and was interrogated about my victimisation of this man," [she said]. She is now one of a few people in Sweden to have been prosecuted for defamation, and is campaigning for a change to the law. Crucially, truth alone is not a defence: a statement can be defamatory under Swedish law even if it is accurate. Further, an archaic clause grants precedence to a person's dignity and honour – even if that person has been convicted of child abuse – over someone else's right to name them as a sexual predator of children.

The Case That Killed #MeToo in Sweden
March 15, 2022, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/03/15/opinion/cissi-wallin...

In October 2017, [Cissi] Wallin posted a mirror selfie to her tens of thousands of followers on Instagram. “The powerful media man who drugged and raped me in 2006 is named Fredrik Virtanen,” the caption began. Today — more than four years later — Mr. Virtanen has never been charged with any crime in connection to his encounter with Ms. Wallin. (He has denied her allegations.) She, meanwhile, is a convicted criminal, at risk of prison time. In 2019 she was charged with and convicted of defamation, after Mr. Virtanen reported her to the police. Other Swedish men have pursued similar tactics: At least 12 criminal convictions have followed of women who had told their own stories since the #MeToo movement began. And now, in what might be a low point in Ms. Wallin’s quest for the right to speak about what she says happened to her, she’s about to be prosecuted again — after self-publishing a memoir. Although the book doesn’t name the man, if she’s convicted, the government will seek to have all unsold hard copies of her book destroyed. Despite Mr. Virtanen’s being one of the highest-profile writers at the country’s largest newspaper, the court concluded that he was not enough of a public figure to justify public interest in his personal conduct. Ms. Wallin’s posts, in other words, were not justifiable, and as a result, it didn’t matter whether her account of their encounter was accurate. “The court will not review whether the statements were true,” the verdict read.

Singing the Shopping List: How Music Can Rewire the Brain After Stroke
June 25, 2026, Reasons to be Cheerful
https://reasonstobecheerful.world/music-therapy-brain-injury/

In 2023, a stroke transformed Naresh Shanbhag, a 53-year-old smooth-talking sales professional in Bengaluru, into someone who was unable to speak words, let alone sentences. Initially, when a doctor friend suggested music therapy, Shanbhag thought it would be interesting, but was skeptical that listening to songs would help him recover. That skepticism disappeared right away. “From the very first session, I was hooked,” he says. In a soundproof room in India’s first music cognition lab at Bengaluru’s National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Shanbhag was given simple rhythms and beats to emulate. When his therapist noted that he could sing more fluently than he could talk, he asked Shanbhag to sing sentences. “One year later, I still do this,” he laughs. “Every morning when I go to fetch milk and groceries, my shopping list is a song that I belt out!” The lab is run by Shantala Hegde, a professor of neuropsychology as well as a trained classical vocalist. She and her team of researcher-collaborators and PhD scholars provide rehabilitation services to dozens of patients per month who have brain injuries like Shanbhag. “Music is a powerful tool for neuropsychological rehabilitation because you engage the entire brain to engage with it,” Hegde says. “We give them specific musical exercises that engage the entire brain, activate different brain areas and strengthen the connections between them,” Hegde clarifies.

Woman with Alzheimer’s starts conversing again after taking psilocybin
June 22, 2026, New Scientist
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2531319-woman-with-alzheimers...

A woman with severe Alzheimer’s disease who spent years communicating in monosyllables started initiating conversations after receiving a large dose of psilocybin. The woman, who also had urinary incontinence and was unable to get around without assistance, also regained control of her bladder and experienced improved mobility in the weeks after taking the drug. The case report, published in the journal Frontiers in Neuroscience, adds to evidence that psychedelics can acutely alter cognition and brain function. The woman, who has not been named, is 83 and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 10 years ago. With the consent of her son, the woman was given 5 grams of the Enigma strain of the highly potent magic mushroom species Psilocybe cubensis, administered orally. She initially began sweating profusely and entered a prolonged deep sleep-like state. But around 19 hours later, her son reported her initiating a conversation that included her memories and reflections, which lasted around 4 hours. Over the subsequent days and weeks, Lago and his colleagues observed her regaining urinary continence, dressing herself and spontaneously entering conversations. The researchers have stressed that her Alzheimer’s has not been reversed, but she may have some residual functional capacity that psychedelics can tap into. We know that psilocybin activates serotonin receptors in the brain, which is thought to boost its plasticity.

The Bizarre Story Of Titu Singh, The Boy Who Claimed To Be The Reincarnation Of A Murder Victim
July 24, 2026, All That's Interesting
https://allthatsinteresting.com/titu-singh-reincarnation

What’s the true story behind Titu Singh’s apparent reincarnation? After Titu was born, he began telling his family tales of a past life. “He would tell his mom and dad loads of stories about how he had a wife and two kids, and they owned a radio cassette shop,” [Tom] Carty explains. “Sure enough, when the parents brought the boy to the radio cassette shop back then, guess who was there? His wife,” Carty explains. “And he starts speaking to his wife and saying, ‘I know your name, and I know our two kids’ names,’ and going into mad detail.” Not only that, but Titu claimed he had been murdered — and he knew who did it. Eventually, the boy identified the killer, who was later prosecuted for the crime. In a 1989 study, researcher Antonia Mills documented as many of the known details about the case as possible. According to Mills, a family reported that their son, Toran “Titu” Singh, began making strange claims as soon as he could talk, around 18 months old. The family claimed that Titu said he was from the city of Agra, had a wife and children, and owned a shop in Sadar Bazaar. Most astonishingly, Titu reportedly knew that he had been killed via gunshot — though, contrary to many online versions of the events, he said that he was unable to identify the attackers. While later reports say his words were used to identify the culprit, there’s no solid evidence that this is the case. Still, some people are convinced that Titu was telling the truth.

Do You Believe in Life After Death? These Scientists Study It.
January 3, 2025, New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/03/style/virginia-dops-reincarnation.html

Dr. Ian Stevenson [was the] director of the Division of Perceptual Studies, or DOPS, a parapsychology research unit he founded in 1967 within the University of Virginia’s school of medicine. The survival of consciousness after death continues to be at the forefront of the division’s research. The team has logged hundreds of cases of children who claim to remember past lives. DOPS is a curious institution. There are only a few other labs in the world undertaking similar lines of research. The only other major parapsychology unit in the United States was Princeton’s Engineering Anomalies Research Laboratory, or PEAR, which focused on telekinesis and extrasensory perception. That unit was shuttered in 2007. Common features in children who claim to have led a previous life include a verbal precocity and mannerisms at odds with that of the rest of the family. Unexplained phobias or aversions have also been thought to have been transferred over from a past existence. In some cases, extreme clarity besets the remembrances: the names, professions and quirks of a different set of relatives, or the particularities of the streets they used to live on and sometimes even recalling obscure historical events — details the child couldn’t possibly have known. The strongest cases, according to the DOPS researchers, have been found in children under the age of 10, and the majority of remembrances tend to occur between the ages of 2 and 6, after which they appear to fade.
